🌌 When the Veil Lifts: A Dream, a Doorway and the Leaves That Followed

In the quiet hours of the night, I woke suddenly to the low hum of a fan turning on in the next room—12:30 AM, precisely. There was no reason for it. The switch hadn’t been touched. But something about it marked a shift in the atmosphere. The room felt different—charged, as if something unseen had entered quietly.
Unable to settle, I drifted back into sleep only to be met by a state I hadn’t encountered in years: sleep paralysis. My awareness was sharp—I knew I was lying in bed, I knew Mat was beside me—but my body would not respond. I tried to move. I tried to speak. I tried to call out. Nothing.
I was suspended in a strange in-between—awake but not awake, conscious yet immobile.
Then, within the dream, something shifted. I watched as the door creaked open and a gust of wind swept through the room. Leaves 🍂 blew in, scattering across the floor with a quiet sense of purpose. Their presence felt symbolic—like forgotten parts of myself returning all at once. I couldn’t move, but I could feel everything. The scene, though dreamt, felt more vivid than real life. It didn’t feel random—it felt timed, personal and deeply intentional.
The sensation stayed with me long after I woke. It wasn’t just the paralysis or the imagery—it was the knowing that something had been shown to me. Not to frighten, but to reveal. To remind. To prepare.
I began to reflect on the timing. We’re currently moving through the energetic window of the Lion’s Gate Portal—a powerful cosmic alignment that peaks on August 8. This portal is known for amplifying spiritual insight, stirring buried truths and initiating deep soul remembrance. It opens as the star Sirius, often called the spiritual sun, rises in alignment with Orion’s Belt and the Sun in Leo, creating a gateway for energetic clearing, intuitive downloads and cellular-level renewal.
And it’s not lost on me that this is unfolding just as Chiron begins its retrograde in Aries, inviting us to revisit core wounds of identity—the raw, instinctual places where the self first learned to protect, to hide or to fight.
With Uranus, Neptune, Pluto, and Mercury also in retrograde, the volume of the inner world feels turned all the way up!
Dreams become messengers.
Sensations become signals.
The subconscious rises—not to overwhelm, but to be acknowledged.
My experience felt like a direct response to this energy. The leaves in the dream felt like fragments of memory, outdated beliefs or emotional residue being swept back into awareness—not to overwhelm me, but to be released. The dream was not just a message—it was a gateway, gently ushering me from one inner season to another.
These thresholds are familiar to me, even if they arrive abruptly.
As a child, I often experienced sleep paralysis—terrifying at the time, but always accompanied by a deeper awareness I couldn’t explain. As I got older, those experiences faded. Life demanded more focus, more logic, more survival. The mystical became inconvenient. But recently, I’ve felt that part of me returning—the one who feels everything, sees between layers, senses what others overlook.
And I’ve come to understand: it was never gone.
Only hidden.
I’ve always been sensitive to the deeper currents—both around me and within. Over the years, I’ve come to understand that this sensitivity isn’t random.
Astrologically, it makes sense.
My chart carries strong Plutonian and Uranian signatures—archetypes of deep transformation, spiritual awakening and disruption of the status quo.
My Sun and Pluto reside in the 8th house—the domain of death and rebirth, shadow, the psyche and soul evolution. This placement means I live close to the liminal. Transformation isn’t an event for me—it’s a way of being. It’s how I navigate life, how I make meaning, how I heal.
My Vertex—the point of fated encounters and karmic unfoldings—also sits in my 8th house.
The same house that holds my Sun and Pluto.
The same house where these dream experiences arise. The same house where the soul remembers what the mind tries to forget.
This tells me that my most profound growth will always come through the mystery—through sleep, shadow, symbolism, death, love and all the spaces in-between.
It reveals that my soul path is deeply tied to inner initiations. The most profound moments of awakening might not look dramatic on the outside—but they are cosmic turning points within.
Moments between sleep and wake, during dream states or emotional breakthroughs that no one else sees—these are the places fate meets me gently, but powerfully.
And in my 10th house—the space of visibility, expression and impact—I carry a stellium in Sagittarius: Uranus, Neptune, Jupiter and the South Node. Together, they speak to a path of visionary truth-telling, intuitive guidance and public awakening. I’m not here to follow tradition.
I’m here to disrupt, awaken authentically and illuminate what’s hidden.
So when the veil lifts, I feel it.
And when a dream holds a message, I don’t dismiss it—I listen.
For years, I misunderstood this sensitivity. I tried to silence it, contain it, make it more manageable—more acceptable. But now I see it differently. What once felt overwhelming is actually the compass that has been guiding me home all along.
